Coils are fragile when not clumped and completely saturated with water. Styling and manipulating dry dehydrated naturally curly or coiled hair is the enemy of length retention!
Natural hair needs water! A lot of water! Aloe Vera is a natural humectant that draws moisture into the hair shaft where it needs to be vs sitting on top of dense, fine hair, with low porosity. Low porosity makes it difficult for water to get in and to escape the hair shaft. This means that the time to dry increases dramatically with any product coated onto low porosity hair.
Therefore, manage porosity issues naturally with a water and Aloe Vera gel rinse applied mostly to the hair and not the scalp. Cleanse the hair and scalp gently with organic base oils, like avocado and jojoba oil, cleansing oils, like coconut oil, and antibacterial essential oils, like eucalyptus. Build a healthy layer of sebum with twisted bantu knots, use smaller to medium sized sections and flat twists or bantu knots for larger sections.
